Our services
Every part of the roof, handled properly
Eight things we do, explained plainly — what the work involves, when you might need it, and how long it usually takes.

Service 01
Roof Repairs
A damaged roof rarely fixes itself, and small problems tend to grow when they are left alone. We carry out practical roof repairs across Lichfield and the surrounding areas, dealing with leaks, slipped or broken tiles, storm damage and general wear and tear before they cause further damage inside your property.
We start by finding the actual source of the water rather than the place it appears. A stain on a bedroom ceiling can begin several metres away at a cracked verge, a failed flashing or a blocked valley. Once we know what is happening, we explain what we have found, what needs doing now, and what can reasonably wait.
Signs you might need this
- You have noticed a water mark on a ceiling or wall
- Tiles or slates have slipped, cracked or blown off
- Wind or storm damage has left part of the roof exposed
- Mortar or ridge tiles have started to crumble
Materials
- Matched clay and concrete tiles
- Natural and fibre cement slate
- Code 4 lead
- Repointing mortar
Typical timescale
Most single repairs are completed within a day.

Service 02
New Roofs & Re-roofs
When a roof has reached the end of its working life, a new roof or full re-roof is often the most sensible long-term option. We talk you through the materials and approach that suit your property, so you understand exactly what the work involves before it begins.
A full re-roof means stripping the old covering back, checking and replacing any tired timbers, fitting a breathable membrane and new treated battens, then laying the new covering with fresh ridge, verge and flashing details. It is a bigger job, but it resets the clock on the whole roof rather than patching one section at a time.
Signs you might need this
- Your existing roof is repeatedly needing repairs
- You are renovating or extending your property
- You want to update an older roof with modern materials
- A survey has recommended a full replacement
Materials
- Interlocking concrete tiles
- Clay plain tiles
- Natural slate
- Breathable membrane and treated battens
Typical timescale
A typical house re-roof usually runs from a few days to two weeks.

Service 03
Flat Roofing
Flat roofs need the right materials and careful detailing to stay watertight. We install and repair flat roofing on extensions, garages, dormers and outbuildings, focusing on clean edges, sound drainage and a finish that lasts.
Most flat roof failures come down to detail rather than the main sheet: upstands that are too shallow, trims that were never properly bonded, or a fall that lets water sit. We build in a proper fall, dress upstands correctly and finish the perimeter with trims that shed water clear of the wall below.
Signs you might need this
- Your extension or garage roof is leaking or pooling water
- An older felt roof is cracked, blistered or lifting
- You are building a new extension that needs a flat roof
- You want an ageing flat roof replaced before it fails
Materials
- EPDM rubber membrane
- GRP fibreglass
- High-performance torch-on felt
- Aluminium edge trims
Typical timescale
A garage or single-storey extension roof is often a one to three day job.

Service 04
Slate & Tile Roofing
Slate and tiled roofs are a defining feature of local properties, and working on them properly takes experience. We handle slate and tile repairs, replacements and complete installations, matching materials to your existing roof wherever possible.
Matching matters. A patch of bright new tile in the middle of a weathered roof is obvious from the pavement, so we source the closest match we can find and, on smaller repairs, will often reuse sound salvaged tiles in the visible areas and put the new ones where they are least noticeable.
Signs you might need this
- Individual slates or tiles are missing, cracked or slipping
- You want a traditional finish for a new roof
- Your roof covering is weathered and due for renewal
- You need matching materials for a period property
Materials
- Welsh and Spanish natural slate
- Clay plain and pantile
- Concrete interlocking tile
- Copper and stainless fixings
Typical timescale
Small slipped-slate repairs are same-day; full coverings take longer.

Service 05
Fascias, Soffits & Guttering
Your roofline does the quiet work of moving rainwater away from your property. We replace and repair fascias, soffits and guttering, helping prevent damp problems while giving the edges of your roof a clean, well-kept finish.
Because it sits at eye level from the garden, roofline work also makes one of the biggest visible differences to a property. Swapping tired timber and sagging gutter for clean uPVC with properly set falls tidies up the whole elevation as well as fixing the drainage.
Signs you might need this
- Guttering overflows, leaks or has pulled away from the roofline
- Wooden fascias or soffits are rotting or flaking
- You want low-maintenance uPVC replacements
- Blocked or damaged gutters are causing damp patches
Materials
- uPVC fascia and soffit board
- Half-round and square-line guttering
- Vented soffit for roof ventilation
- Anthracite, black and white finishes
Typical timescale
A full roofline replacement on a typical house takes one to three days.

Service 06
Chimney Repairs & Leadwork
Chimneys and lead flashing are some of the most common entry points for water. We repair and repoint chimney stacks, renew flashing and carry out leadwork that keeps these vulnerable junctions properly sealed against the weather.
Lead is unforgiving of shortcuts. Pieces that are too long crack as they expand, and mortar smeared over a joint instead of a proper chase will not last a winter. We cut in, wedge and dress lead in sensible lengths so the detail moves with the weather instead of fighting it.
Signs you might need this
- Damp patches are appearing near a chimney breast
- Lead flashing is cracked, lifted or missing
- Chimney mortar is crumbling or pots are loose
- You want a chimney stack made safe and weather-tight
Materials
- Code 4 and Code 5 lead
- Lead sealant and patination oil
- Repointing and haunching mortar
- Chimney cowls and pots
Typical timescale
Flashing renewal or a repoint is usually one to two days.

Service 07
Emergency Roofing Repairs
Storm damage and sudden leaks cannot always wait for a convenient moment. If your roof has been damaged and your property is at risk, call us for prompt help. We will give you clear advice over the phone and arrange the quickest practical route to making your roof safe.
The first priority is stopping water getting in and making the area safe. That may mean a temporary cover while the weather passes, with the permanent repair carried out once conditions allow and we can see the full extent of the damage.
Signs you might need this
- A storm has stripped tiles or left the roof exposed
- Water is coming into the property right now
- Debris or a fallen branch has damaged the roof
- You need urgent advice about sudden roof damage
Materials
- Temporary weatherproof sheeting
- Replacement tiles and slates
- Lead and flashing repairs
Typical timescale
We aim to make the roof safe as quickly as conditions allow.

Service 08
Roof Maintenance & Inspections
Most expensive roofing problems started as small, cheap-to-fix issues. Our maintenance and inspection work helps you understand the condition of your roof and deal with minor wear before it turns into disruptive damage.
An inspection covers the covering itself, ridge and verge, flashings and abutments, valleys, and the guttering and roofline. You get a plain-English summary of what is sound, what is wearing, and what we would keep an eye on next year.
Signs you might need this
- You want your roof checked before or after winter
- You are buying a property and want the roof looked at
- You cannot remember the last time the roof was inspected
- You want peace of mind about the condition of your roofline
Materials
- Visual and close-up inspection
- Gutter clearing
- Minor pointing and resealing
Typical timescale
A standard inspection takes an hour or two.

Questions
Roofing questions, answered
The things homeowners ask us most often, answered plainly.
It comes down to how much of the roof is failing and how old the covering is. If a handful of tiles have slipped on an otherwise sound roof, a repair is the sensible route. If the covering is porous, the battens are tired and you are calling someone out every winter, repeated repairs cost more over a few years than doing the job once. We will tell you honestly which situation you are in.
No. We will come out, look at the roof and give you a written price with the work set out clearly. There is no obligation to go ahead.
Call us and we will give you a realistic answer the same day. For active leaks we prioritise getting the roof made safe and watertight first, with the permanent repair following once the weather allows.
It depends on the job. Small repairs at low level can often be done safely from a ladder or tower. Anything involving working along the roof, a re-roof, or work at height over a public path will normally need scaffolding, and we will include that in the quote rather than adding it later.
Roofs are stripped in manageable sections rather than all at once, and any open area is sheeted overnight and in bad weather. British weather is part of the job and the schedule is planned around it.
In most cases yes. There are a lot of tile profiles in use around Staffordshire and we will source the closest match available. On repairs to older roofs we often reuse sound salvaged tiles in the most visible areas so the patch does not stand out.
That depends on the covering. Concrete interlocking tiles and good clay tiles are generally expected to last decades, and natural slate longer again. Lifespan also depends on the detailing underneath and on keeping gutters and flashings maintained.
Lichfield, Rugeley, Armitage, Yoxall, Whittington, Tamworth, Burntwood and Brownhills, plus the villages in between. If you are just outside that list, call us anyway and we will tell you straight away whether we can help.
