Who we are

A local roofing firm that turns up and explains itself

Your roof protects everything underneath it, so the work deserves someone who will look properly, tell you what they actually found, and price it in writing.

We work on everything from Georgian slate in the middle of Lichfield to 1970s concrete tile in Tamworth and Burntwood. Some jobs are an hour's work on a ladder. Others are a fortnight with scaffolding up. Either way you get the same thing: a clear explanation, a price you can hold us to, and a tidy site at the end of it.

Why homeowners choose us

No jargon, no pressure, no vanishing acts

Roofing has a reputation problem. We would rather earn the next job than win this one at any cost.

Local, not national
We work in Lichfield and the towns and villages around it. Our reputation travels down the same streets we do.
Straight answers
If a repair will do, we will say so. If a roof genuinely needs replacing, we will explain why in plain terms.
Proper detailing
Flashings, valleys, verges and upstands are where roofs fail. We take the time to get those right.
One point of contact
You speak to the people doing the work, not a call centre. Ring the mobile and you get a roofer.

We would rather tell you your roof has five good years left than sell you one you do not need.

Roofing advice

Worth knowing before you call anyone

A few things we find ourselves explaining most weeks.

Spotting roof problems early

Look up after heavy weather. Slipped or missing tiles, a gutter overflowing at one corner, dark streaks down a wall or moss piled in the valleys are all worth a phone call before winter sets in.

Flat roof or pitched roof?

Flat roofs are not inherently worse — a properly laid EPDM or fibreglass roof with a real fall and clean upstands will outlive a badly detailed pitched roof. What matters is the detailing and the drainage.

After a storm

Check from the ground and from inside the loft with a torch on a wet day. Do not climb up yourself. If tiles are off or you can see daylight, get it covered quickly before the next band of rain arrives.

Repair or re-roof?

Add up what you have spent on the roof over the last five years. If the total is climbing and the covering is past its expected life, the sums usually favour replacing it once rather than patching it repeatedly.

Questions

Roofing questions, answered

The things homeowners ask us most often, answered plainly.

It comes down to how much of the roof is failing and how old the covering is. If a handful of tiles have slipped on an otherwise sound roof, a repair is the sensible route. If the covering is porous, the battens are tired and you are calling someone out every winter, repeated repairs cost more over a few years than doing the job once. We will tell you honestly which situation you are in.

No. We will come out, look at the roof and give you a written price with the work set out clearly. There is no obligation to go ahead.

Call us and we will give you a realistic answer the same day. For active leaks we prioritise getting the roof made safe and watertight first, with the permanent repair following once the weather allows.

It depends on the job. Small repairs at low level can often be done safely from a ladder or tower. Anything involving working along the roof, a re-roof, or work at height over a public path will normally need scaffolding, and we will include that in the quote rather than adding it later.

Roofs are stripped in manageable sections rather than all at once, and any open area is sheeted overnight and in bad weather. British weather is part of the job and the schedule is planned around it.
